Solid 14K Yellow Gold Green CZ Cubic Zirconia Round Brilliant Stud Earrings

Solid 14K yellow gold stud earrings set with round brilliant cut green cubic zirconia. The stones are a bright spring green, clean and evenly saturated, and the brilliant cut pulls light down through the crown and back out in sharp white and green flashes rather than a soft glow. Each stone sits in a four prong basket, the claws slim and bent neatly over the girdle so they hold the stone without covering any more of it than they have to, and the basket is open underneath so light reaches the pavilion from below. The posts and backs are stamped 14K.

The color is the draw. Green runs all the way through these stones rather than sitting on the surface, because color in cubic zirconia comes from rare earth oxides added while the crystal is grown, so it holds its saturation permanently. The brilliant cut keeps that color moving instead of letting it sit flat, throwing bright green and white together as the head turns. Warm yellow gold frames it well, picking up the warmer edge of the green and keeping the whole stud reading rich rather than cold.

Small, light studs that work stacked with other piercings or worn alone. Arrives packaged and ready to gift or add to your collection.

Fun Facts:
Color in cubic zirconia is created by adding rare earth oxides to the melt while the crystal grows, with elements like chromium and praseodymium producing greens, which is why the color is part of the crystal structure itself rather than a surface treatment.
Cubic zirconia is grown by a process called skull melting, in which the crucible is made of the same material being melted and is water cooled so that a thin outer shell stays solid while the interior passes 2,700 degrees Celsius, a workaround invented because no ordinary crucible can survive those temperatures.
