RETIRED James Avery Sterling Silver 925 Sisterhood Ring - Size 6.5
Retired James Avery sterling silver Sisterhood ring, built from three rounded forms that sweep diagonally across the face and overlap one another. Each form is a smooth tapered dome, widest at its center and narrowing to a point, and they lie across the top of the band in sequence so that each one rests over the one beside it rather than sitting apart. The transitions between them are deep enough to throw real shadow, which is what gives the face its depth. There is no stone, no engraving and no texture anywhere on the piece, just polished volume. The shank is substantial where it meets the head and tapers back to a comfortable band, and the interior is stamped with the James Avery candelabra and 925, both struck crisp and fully legible.
The design works entirely through form. Three separate shapes, each one distinct, arranged so that they overlap and hold together as a single unit, and the name James Avery gave it tells you how to read that. Because the surfaces are fully rounded and mirror polished, each dome carries its own long highlight that travels as the hand moves, so the three catch light in sequence rather than all at once. This piece is retired and no longer in production.
